The Children’s Museum Jordan, a non-profit educational initiative of Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, received the International Promising Practice Award by the MetLife Foundation and the Association of Children’s Museums which is based in the USA after receiving an honorable distinction for the same award two years ago. The Children’s Museum received the award for Celebrations, which is a year-round program that celebrates national occasions in a way that allows children and families to explore our heritage, values, traditions, culture and community.

Nurturing children’s civic competence and a sense of national identity is among the key learning objectives of the Children’s Museum Jordan. Our Celebrations flagship program is designed to attain this through interactive, enriching, and fun festive experiences.

The events under Celebrations are developed with an element of creativity that surprises and engages visitors, and invites them to rediscover the familiar but often under appreciated elements of our heritage, community and culture.

The five major occasions that Celebrations program observes are the Mother’s Day, the Labor Day, Eid Al Fitr, Eid Al Adha and Christmas.
